I was scanning the Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) for the Biology End of Course assessment here in Washington state, and I had this urge to rearrange them (because I’m a dork). I thought I would share this alternate view in case others are interested. I wanted to be able to see how student life science ideas developed from a Basic understanding up to an Advanced understanding.
Click HERE to see the original Bio EOC PLDs.
Click HERE to see them arranged in a table format. I did this quickly so I apologize for any typos or other errors of layout.
Very cool, thanks. And I concur you are a dork.
thanks for the confirmation 🙂

Kirk,
The table view can support teachers’ analysis of student responses and makes it easier to know what understanding is required to support students to the next level. Very nice. Pat
Thanks Pat- you describe much more eloquently how this document might be useful
I like it! I think I’ll share it with a HS Bio group I am working with in a couple weeks, they are working on their class assessments and I was going to have them look at the PLDs but I think this format seems like it might be more useful. I’ll let you know what they think.
I’ll be interested to hear what the bio group says- please share any improvements they make
U r a dork genius (or is it genius dork?). Gonna use this with our regional EOC workshop on the 24th. Will let you know how it goes.
I like! This version will be immediately peer-pilfered, which in our world is the highest form of praise!
thanks Mike 🙂
