I’m a big fan of a clear overview document…It’s kind of my thing. I try to provide overviews and summaries on this site but often just end up sending out a link to something interesting and let my readers dig into the content themselves.

An example of this “you go figure it out” style of post was when I quickly wrote about the NAP guide on PK-5 Science and Engineering instruction back in December 2023 right before winter break. See the original post HERE.

In my rush to post about this important guide I didn’t notice that there is a really nicely designed interactive overview to help us access the content. I highly recommend using this interactive as a way to get the “gist” of the report and then to dig into the chapters that are most important to you. Check out the interactive HERE.

The more time I spend with this guide the more I see it as a foundational document in our advocacy work in rebooting science and engineering instruction in the elementary grades. I’m going to leave you with a quote from the epilogue to the interactive guide in the image below. It provides encouragement with a sense of challenge. Enjoy.
