I could probably highlight a STEM Teaching Tool every week- there is so much good stuff there. One of the latest tools is about the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals and how to promote them in our classroom instruction. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outline the present global objectives, including eradicating poverty, promoting good health, ensuring access to clean water and energy, and achieving equity. These goals serve as a practical framework for educators, offering tangible ways to center instruction around significant local and global phenomena that directly relate to students’ lives. Furthermore, the SDGs emphasize the crucial intersections between STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), economics, social behavior, and politics, providing a comprehensive approach to addressing pressing challenges. Click HERE to access the STEM Teaching Tool on the SDGs. Summer feels like a great time to dig into the UN goals and to think about how to connect with these in the upcoming school year.
