I first mentioned Benchfly.com on this site in August 2009 and I feel like this rich and well-designed site is worthy of another mention.
Benchfly provides time saving tips, video protocols, reviews, and a wealth of tools for anyone working in a molecular biology lab or teaching a biotechnology course. The video protocols are short and to the point- see Streaking Bacteria for a Single Colony embedded below:

One of my favorite parts of Benchfly is the sense of fun and engagement you get from the site. You can tell that the designers/contributors truly love what they do- a real-life example of the Nature of Science. See Benchlife- Beyond Experiments for some great cooking tips, etc.
You can also follow Benchfly on Twitter 🙂
Hi Kirk,
Thanks so much for the blog – I really appreciate the kind words regarding both the site and the fun, engaging aspect of it. As you pointed out, we really are passionate about what we’re doing and we’re always trying to think of ways to improve the site for users. If you ever have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
