Winter Olympics and Science

I mentioned this resource back in December and I thought it was worth another “shout out” with the Winter Olympics on the horizon.

NBCLEARN.com (through a partnership with NSF) has created a set of 16 video clips highlighting the science present in several Winter Olympic sports.

Clips include: The Science of Snowboarding, Air Lift- Ski Jump, Science Friction- Curling, and more.

This seems like a perfect opportunity to engage some students in physical science concepts through the use of sports.
