Biological Animations

Screen shot 2009-10-04 at 8.40.08 PMJohn L. Giannini of St. Olaf College in Minnesota has a site containing a selection of  Biological Animations. These  animations include cell structures, membrane transport, metabolism, and cell division.

The animations are simple, clear, and would be great for use on an interactive whiteboard or linked to a blog or wiki.

The site also contains an Explorable Cell, movies, and links for biology instruction.

Applications for Science Teachers: These animations would be most appropriate for high school and college level learners of biological sciences. The animations provide a nice visual support for building understanding of complicated biochemical processes.
