Title: Leading Science Instruction for All with a focus on Interest and Identity (K-8)

Dates/Times:

  • Thurs, June 5th, 2025 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Synchronous Online
    • One hour asynchronous task between sessions
  • Thurs, June12th, 2025 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Synchronous Online

Overview:

This workshop series will immerse participants in the vision for equity-focussed STEM teaching and learning. Participants will develop a core understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards and A Framework for K-12 Science Education along with best practices in 5 Dimensional STEM instruction. Participants will attend two 2-hr Zoom meetings and also engage in one asynchronous task. Participants will engage with STEM Teaching Tools, video cases, and multiple resources while working independently and in breakout groups. Participants will analyze example science instructional materials and assessments designed to engage and increase rigor for all students.

Participants who complete all 5 hours of the course will be eligible to purchase 5 STEM Clock Hours.
