This FREE resource for communicating about climate science from Meghan Wise popped up in my LinkedIn feed and it seemed like a great climate education resource to share here.

One of the themes that has emerged over my years of working on climate science instruction with teachers and preservice teachers is a certain level reluctance to engage in discussions on climate (who can blame anyone for feeling this way). I haven’t always had an abundance of resources to refer folks to…so I’m excited to add another tool to our toolbox.

Communicating Climate Change with Care and Impact is a FREE pdf that you can access HERE. You will find:

  • a variety of frames for crafting information and communication on climate change
  • using metaphor to frame climate communication
  • key principles and practices of climate communication
  • climate equity tools
  • how to navigate resistance and denial
  • strategies for challenging conversations
  • beautiful illustrations and graphics that support the tools and strategies also by Meghan Wise
  • and much more

NOTE: I have only given this a quick skim and it definitely meets the eye test. They say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover…but I’m judging this one and it’s beautiful. Check out that original artwork throughout! I look forward to digging in and planning how to use this in the coming years. I also look forward to hearing from anyone who starts to use this resource and learning from you.

  • How are you using it?
  • What is your audience? (students, other teachers, etc)
  • What are your favorite parts of this document?
