The Allen Institute is having a sticker design contest this summer. The contest starts June 1, 2023 and sticker designs are due August 1, 2023. Students ages 5-14 are invited to participate.

The prompt to design toward is- “What does open science mean to you?” I think in order to address this prompt any young designers (or family or teachers) would need to spend some time on the Allen Institute site reading about open science. Try HERE. Below is a definition for open science as defined on their site:

Open science: Our goal is to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery and nurture medical breakthroughs, so we open our research to the global scientific community.

If you are interested visit the site HERE to access the Contest Entry Form and Rules. Feels like this could be a good end of the school year activity.

The prize is listed as:

A set of stickers featuring the Entrant’s design for their class along
with other Allen Institute swag items. The stickers will also be featured in Sponsor’s Open Science Week programming.
