The Case for Being Bold: A New Agenda for Business in Improving STEM Education is a report from Institute for a Competitive Workforce. The report details the following areas of focus for STEM business leaders:
- Taking full advantage of strengthened and streamlined academic standards.
- Rethinking how teachers are hired, deployed, and prepared.
- Promoting new models of schooling that can facilitate STEM learning
My intent on this blog has never been to post my personal rants or criticisms… so I will simply say that I’m posting this report to share a resource. I think there are some interesting ideas and the report challenges our thinking about STEM education. As an educator this report “pushes some buttons” for me… and that’s probably a good thing.
I’m interested to hear what others think of this report.
