Encyclopedia of Life

The Encyclopedia of Life is an ambitious project with the mission of creating an “electronic page for each species of organism on Earth”. At last count that is about 1.9 million species. This is a collaborative project involving people with expertise from around the world. I found the FAQ page very helpful in learning more about the project.

I look forward to keeping an eye on EOL as it grows. You can follow EOL on Twitter, in an RSS reader, and they also have a blog.
