Science House promotes the simple mission of bringing people together to promote and advance science.

I recommend digging into the resources on Science House, but today I am featuring two collections of videos on the site. The Virtual Science Toolkit contains a set of video clips showing science demonstrations. See the Slime clip below. There is also a collection of video interviews with working scientists– see an embedded clip below.

Science House purports to have more video resources coming soon on Great Science Books and Science Concepts. I’ll keep you informed.

Applications for Science Teachers: The science experiment videos could be used as discrepant events for engaging learners, starting discussions, and uncovering preconceptions. The interviews of scientists can go a long way in helping students create a true perception of “a scientist” and the nature of science.
