Neave Planetarium

Picture 1Neave Planetarium is a very cool web-based planetarium. You can see the night sky from your location on Earth (or any location) full screen. Click on stars to see the constellations and the name of the given star. The constellation connections can be toggled on and off.

Neave.com also has several other interesting interactives: flash Earth, strobe, and more

Applications for Science Teachers: What a great tool for turning your classroom into a planetarium using a projector, smart board, tv, etc. I know in Washington State our new elementary science standards expect grade 4-5 students to understand that we see different constellations during different times of the year. This could be a great tool for helping students meet that standard. I think there are many uses here.
