I use a web tool called Delicious to save my science, technology, engineering, math, and education related bookmarks online. I currently have over 2500 bookmarks and have essentially created a searchable database online. Feel free to visit my Delicious site HERE and do your own searching. Below I have embedded some common areas that may be of interest. Click the link which will take you to my Delicious site and all of the resources that match that search term. Happy resource hunting 🙂 And don’t hesitate to contact me if there is something specific you are looking for.

  1. GIANTmicrobes are stuffed animals that look like tiny microbes, only a million times the actual size. Each comes with an image and information about the real microbe it represents. They make great learning tools!

  2. “Teach science for all” is a blog no educator or scientist should miss. You nailed that microbe. Goes to the heart of public education’s mission in these United States of America. In theory, at least.
I’m a freelance science writer in Atlanta, and my sister teaches sixth grade science in Richmond, Virginia. Science education and literacy are crucial for keeping democracy intact during these times of technologic and scientific advancement. There is a lot of downright hostility towards science right now that stems from simple lack of understanding. (For example, evolution is called the E-word.)

  3. I really enjoyed the video about the scientific process and the find of the new spider in Oregon you shared in your lecture during our professional development days in Issaquah. I have looked everywhere for that video and was hoping you could send me the link.
